10 things I wish I’d known sooner.

01

Read the Notice first.

Your specific competition sets the map. Do not prepare for “Europe in general”.

02

Treat EU Knowledge as a priority.

Reasoning practice matters, but precise EU knowledge can decide your ranking.

03

Take a cold diagnostic test.

Twenty to thirty questions will show you where your time is most needed.

04

Build understanding before memorising.

Learn how institutions and procedures connect; facts stick better once the structure is clear.

05

Use flashcards daily.

Fifteen focused minutes of spaced repetition adds up quickly over three months.

06

Practise under a clock.

Knowledge feels different when a question has an 80-second deadline.

07

Review uncertainty, too.

Learn why an answer is correct — even when you guessed it right.

08

Aim to rank, not only pass.

Set a score target that gives you a margin rather than relying on the minimum.

09

Protect a small study ritual.

A realistic 45–90 minutes a day is more useful than waiting for a perfect free weekend.

10

Use official sources for current affairs.

Policy priorities change. Keep your preparation aligned with the current competition and EU material.
